Position Summary
The Production Technician UAS & Motors supports the assembly and testing of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and brushless motors used in defense applications. This role is hands-on and detail-driven, working closely with Production and Engineering teams to build high-quality electromechanical components in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable with precision assembly, soldering, inspection, and operating specialized equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and test UAS platforms and brushless motor components, including stators, rotors, bearings, and magnets
- Perform precision electromechanical assembly following work instructions, technical drawings, and work orders
- Conduct through-hole and wire soldering for motor leads and electronic connections
- Set up and operate stator winding machines (training provided)
- Use calipers, micrometers, and inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct assembly or process issues to maintain quality standards
- Accurately document production activity, serial numbers, and inspection results
- Follow ESD requirements, safety procedures, and proper material handling protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment
