-Role Description: UAS Mapping Pilot (Full-Time, Hybrid)
Do you love technology and traveling across the country? ASM is looking for a passionate and experienced UAS Mapping Pilot to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL. This full-time role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work setup, allowing you to work remotely when not in the field—up to 90% travel will be required for fieldwork across the U.S.
As a UAS Mapping Pilot, you’ll be flying high—literally! Your primary mission will be to conduct aerial surveys and capture high-quality drone data for both commercial and residential real estate projects. You’ll work side-by-side with our survey and data processing teams to ensure that this data integrates seamlessly into our mapping workflows, helping us deliver top-tier results to our clients.
This role offers the best of both worlds: the flexibility to work remotely when not traveling, combined with the excitement of hands-on fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct aerial surveys using state-of-the-art UAS (drones) to capture high-resolution data for diverse real estate projects.
Capture, process, and analyze aerial data to create detailed and accurate maps, ensuring the highest standard of deliverables.
Collaborate with survey and data processing teams to integrate aerial data into broader project workflows efficiently and effectively.
Keep your equipment in peak condition with regular maintenance and calibration of UAS technology.
Ensure FAA regulations and strict safety protocols are adhered to during every flight, maintaining ASM's high standards of safety.
-Qualifications:
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License – Required.
UAS Mapping (mapping with drones) - Required.
Experience with surveying equipment, such as GNSS (RTK/PPK) systems - Preferred.
A fast learner with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt on the fly.
Experience in aerial mapping and data capture using drones – Preferred, but we’re willing to train the right candidate.
Familiarity with leading aerial mapping software like Pix4D, DroneDeploy, or Agisoft is a plus.
Basic computer skills and the ability to interpret and report data.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce precise, actionable results.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, travel-heavy role, managing your time efficiently.
