About the Role & Company

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated UAS Remote Pilot to lead drone-based field operations for major infrastructure projects across the U.S. This critical role involves directing all aerial data collection, ensuring technical accuracy, and supervising field operations to support our land surveying and geomatics teams.

The UAS Remote Pilot exercises independent technical judgment, solves complex field challenges, and ensures all aerial surveying tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications, FAA regulations, and schedules.

Essential Responsibilities (Leadership & Execution)

· Operate UAS platforms and sensors (such as LiDAR, photogrammetry, or thermal) to collect high-quality survey data.

· Execute specific, field-related flight assignments using prescribed methods as requested by a Project Manager or Project Surveyor.

· Apply standard practices and techniques to recognize discrepancies in aerial data and follow operations through detailed processes.

· Perform equipment setups and ensure accurate integration between UAS data and conventional GPS surveying equipment.

· Maintain the cleanliness, calibration, and organization of all UAS hardware, specialized survey equipment, and company vehicles.

· Notify the project supervisor of the status of supplies or equipment maintenance needs.

· Follow all company QA/QC procedures, safety standards, and FAA Part 107 regulations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Candidates must be able to meet the following requirements:

· Frequent standing, walking, and hiking on rough, uneven terrain (e.g., construction sites, steep hills, wooded areas) for extended periods.

· Ability to frequently lift and carry UAS cases and support equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.

· Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating precision flight controls and equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Mandatory: Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in land surveying/geomatics field work, with a focus on UAS data collection.

· Valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

· Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background check, including a 7-year criminal history check.

· Ability and willingness to travel as required for large-scale, nationwide projects, including overnight stays.
