This search is on behalf of an Arc Human Capital, LLC client. They are a leader in aerial data acquisition, UAV/drone mapping, and reality capture solutions serving engineering, surveying, construction, and infrastructure clients nationwide. They leverage advanced photogrammetry, LiDAR, and geospatial technologies to deliver highly accurate, survey-grade datasets that support design, planning, and asset management initiatives.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Photogrammetrist / Quality Control Processing Specialist to join their growing team. This is a fully remote position responsible for analyzing, processing, and interpreting geographic information derived from photogrammetric UAV/drone data and geospatial survey control points. The successful candidate will create engineering-grade 3D deliverables, support geospatial initiatives across multiple industries, and coordinate systems.
This role will report directly to the Director of Operations and the President of the organization.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Photogrammetrist / Reality Capture Specialist will process and develop highly accurate geospatial datasets, including:
- Digital Elevation Models (DEM)
- Digital Surface Models (DSM)
- Digital Terrain Models (DTM)
- Orthomosaics
- Engineering-grade mapping products
- Reality capture deliverables integrating photogrammetry and LiDAR data
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation in photogrammetry, surveying principles, and geospatial production workflows and is passionate about delivering survey-grade products that support engineering and infrastructure projects nationwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Photogrammetry & Stereo Production
- Process airborne and terrestrial imagery datasets.
- Perform aerial triangulation, stereo compilation, and DEM/DTM generation.
- Produce survey-grade mapping deliverables that meet engineering standards.
- Conduct photogrammetric accuracy validation and comprehensive QA/QC procedures.
- Process and interpret data in multiple coordinate systems and datums.
Mobile Mapping & Reality Capture
- Integrate mobile LiDAR and imagery with traditional photogrammetric datasets.
- Extract features and align data across multiple collection platforms.
- Support reality capture programs for infrastructure and asset inventory projects.
- Collaborate with UAS pilots, CAD professionals, GIS specialists, and asset management teams to support downstream data utilization.
Production & Technical Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing and creation of airborne, terrestrial, and mobile-derived datasets.
- Execute and support QA/QC procedures to ensure survey-grade deliverables.
- Troubleshoot alignment, accuracy, and workflow challenges.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standardized production workflows and best practices.
- Support CAD, GIS, and asset management integration initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance when appropriate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, GIS, Geography, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in photogrammetric production and design-grade mapping datasets.
- Strong understanding of planimetric mapping and digital terrain modeling techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of surveying principles, mapping standards, and accuracy requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or project coordination experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Technical Proficiency
Experience with the following software platforms is strongly preferred:
- PIX4D Mapper
- PIX4D Matic
- DAT/EM Summit Evolution
- Bentley MicroStation
- TopoDOT
- ArcGIS Pro
- Additional experience with LiDAR processing software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist (CP) certification or actively pursuing certification.
- Experience with aerial LiDAR classification and development of 3D surface datasets for Department of Transportation (DOT), engineering, and surveying clients.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, transportation, or asset management programs.
- Familiarity with UAS data acquisition and geospatial data management workflows.
ASPRS CERTIFIED PHOTOGRAMMETRIST CANDIDATES
Preference may be given to candidates who meet or are pursuing the requirements for ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist (CP) designation, including:
- Demonstrated professional responsibility and competency in photogrammetry.
- Experience managing mapping and mensuration projects.
- Knowledge of survey control, imagery specifications, and mapping production workflows.
- Ability to supervise and plan photogrammetric activities.
- Compliance with the ASPRS Code of Ethics.
- Professional references from individuals with firsthand knowledge of the candidate's photogrammetric experience and qualifications.
